Being a typical resale 3 Room HDB flat built in the 1960s, the challenge was therefore to create a comfortable yet cosy space for a single owner.

​

The brief to us was simple- to create a space that allows him to hold art classes at home in an open environment where thoughts and students' works are shared. We then set about to hack out the front bedroom to cater to his need for an "open classroom" space. Walls were also flattened in order to accommodate space for art on walls

​

Finishes were also kept simple to allow intricate furniture pieces in the house to stand out. Bedrooms were left bare and simple for the simple fact that it is "just a place to sleep"
